Privacy Policy

How Safehous collects, uses, protects, and shares your information — and the choices you have.

Last updated: April 18, 2026
Safehous (“Safehous,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the rights and choices you have over your information. By using Safehous products, services, or websites, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, information generated by your Safehous devices, and information automatically collected when you interact with our websites and apps.

Information you provide

  • Account information — name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and password when you create a Safehous account.
  • Payment information — billing address and payment card details, processed securely through our third-party payment processor. Safehous does not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
  • Property information — the address and basic characteristics of the property where Safehous devices are installed, so we can contextualize alerts.
  • Communications — messages you send to our support team, survey responses, and feedback.

Information from your devices

  • Sensor data — water presence detection, flow readings, valve state, temperature, humidity, and battery level.
  • Device diagnostics — connectivity status, firmware version, signal strength, and error logs.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data — pages viewed, features used, session duration, and interactions within our website and app.
  • Device information — IP address, browser type, operating system, mobile device identifiers, and general location derived from IP.

2How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Safehous service and your connected devices
  • Deliver real-time alerts, notifications, and device status updates
  • Process transactions and manage your subscription
  • Respond to your support requests and communicate with you about your account
  • Improve our products, develop new features, and perform analytics
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, security breaches, and abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of service
  • Send occasional product announcements and marketing communications, where permitted — you can opt out of marketing messages at any time

3SMS & Mobile Opt-In Data

Our commitment: Mobile opt-in information and consent — including your mobile phone number and the fact that you opted in to receive text messages — will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers collected through SMS opt-in are used solely to deliver the messages you have consented to receive and are not sold, rented, or transferred to third parties for their marketing use.

When you opt in to receive SMS messages from Safehous, we collect your mobile phone number and a record of your consent (including the date, time, and method of opt-in). This information is used exclusively to:

  • Deliver the leak alerts, device notifications, and account messages you have subscribed to
  • Maintain records of consent as required by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and other applicable laws
  • Process opt-out requests (STOP) and support requests (HELP)

We may share mobile opt-in data with our SMS service providers (such as telecommunications carriers and SMS platform vendors) strictly for the purpose of delivering the messages you have requested. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your mobile information for their own marketing or from sharing it with any other third party.

You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. For full details about our SMS program, see the SMS Terms & Conditions.
