The Safehous App — Setup & Operation Guide.

The Safehous app is the control center for the entire system. This guide walks through installation, device setup, and key app features so you can speak confidently about the homeowner experience.

Safehous App

Install the Safehous app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store onto your smart device. Available on both iOS and Android.

Installing the Safehous App

Download the app from either store, then create an account. Your username and password will be used to log in and manage all devices connected to the property.

Before adding devices, set up rooms in the app. This allows each sensor to be assigned to a specific location in the home for clear, actionable alerts.

Adding a Room in the Safehous App

1. Select Menu Button — tap the menu icon in the top left of the Rooms screen.

2. Select My Home — opens your home management settings.

3. Select Rooms — navigate to the Rooms section.

4. Select Add (+) — tap the add button to create a new room.

5. Enter Room Name — name the room (e.g. Kitchen, Master Bath, Laundry) and save.

Each Safehous device has a unique QR code on the front or back of the unit. Use the app’s QR scanner to register each device to the account.

Adding a Device via QR Code

1. Select QR Scanner — tap the QR icon in the app to open the scanner.

2. Scan QR Code — point the camera at the QR code on the device to add it to your account.

Repeat this process for every device: Valve Controller, Internet Gateway Hub, and all Point of Leak Sensors.

The IG-1000 is the local LoRa-to-internet bridge. It connects via WiFi or LAN and links all Safehous devices to the cloud platform.

Configuring the IG-1000 Gateway

1. Plug the USB cable and power adapter into a wall outlet to power the IG-1000.

2. Plug the Ethernet cable into the IG-1000 and your router or network switch.

3. Using the Safehous app, scan the IG-1000’s QR code (on the back or bottom of the unit) to register it to the account.

4–7. Select the Gateway Box in the app → select the WiFi symbol → choose your WiFi network → enter the password → setup complete.

The Valve and Sensor Controller connects the automatic shutoff valve and inline FL-1000 sensor to the hub via LoRa wireless.

Connecting the Valve and Sensor Controller

1. Select Add Device — scan the QR code on the Controller.

2. Select Bind the Device — confirm the device details and tap Bind Device.

3. Controller is Bound — a confirmation screen shows the device has been successfully added.

4. Done — the Controller now appears in the Rooms screen as online and active.

Point-of-leak sensors are wireless and simple to configure — just scan and bind. Place them under sinks, behind appliances, and near water heaters.

Configuring Point of Leak Floor Sensors

1. Select QR Code and Scan the Device — use the app scanner on the sensor’s QR code.

2. Select Bind the Device — confirm the sensor type (Leak Sensor) and tap Bind Device.

3. Floor Sensor is Bound — confirmation screen shows the device is registered.

4. Done — sensor appears in the Rooms screen with status “Normal.”

Calibration teaches the FL-1000 the baseline water temperature so it can accurately detect abnormal thermal displacement. Calibration takes under 30 seconds.

Calibrating Water Temperature

1. Select Leak Controller — tap the controller device in the Rooms screen.

2. Select Setup Menu — tap the settings icon to access device details.

3. Select Cold or Hot Water — choose the water type for the supply line being monitored.

4. Select Calibration — navigate to the Calibration menu item.

5. Follow Instructions — ensure no water is flowing in the pipe, plug in the adapter, and wait 20 seconds.

6. Calibration Complete — the app confirms with heated thermistor, water temperature, and differential readings.

The leak detection schedule defines when the system actively monitors for abnormal flow. Time windows can be customized to match the property’s occupancy patterns.

Setting Leak Detection Schedule

1. Select Leak Controller — open the controller from the Rooms screen.

2. Select Leak Schedule — tap the Schedule option at the bottom of the controller screen.

3. Select a Time Window — choose from pre-configured schedules or create a custom detection window that fits the homeowner’s schedule.

Each time window includes: start/end detection time, days of the week, leak detect sensitivity, water leak runtime before alarm, and auto shut-off valve behavior.

Once all devices are configured, the Rooms screen gives a real-time view of every device on the property — status, connectivity, and valve state at a glance.
