Safehous combines in-line sensors, point-of-leak sensors, automated shutoff valves, local controllers, and a LoRa-connected internet gateway to monitor critical water lines throughout a restaurant. When abnormal water activity or a physical leak is detected, the system can send an alert and automatically isolate the affected water line before the incident becomes a major property loss.

The Safehous in-line sensor uses a stainless steel probe with two distinct sensing elements submerged directly in the water path. Together they detect even the smallest flow anomalies — down to slow drips caused by hairline cracks or degrading pipe joints — while filtering out false readings from natural temperature changes.

Proprietary Electronic Heater

Positioned at the probe tip, submerged directly in the water path. Maintained at approximately 50°F above ambient water temperature. When water moves — even at extremely low flow rates — it draws heat from the element, causing a measurable voltage shift fed to the onboard microprocessor for analysis.

Sensing Element 2

Temperature Compensation Sensor

Positioned at the top of the probe, away from moving water. Tracks baseline water temperature in real time. Seasonal changes, hot water usage, and environmental shifts can mimic flow signals. This sensor provides a continuous reference so the microprocessor filters out false signals and only flags genuine leaks.
